Google Launches MCP Toolbox to Let Anyone “Talk” to Databases

Google has launched the MCP Toolbox for Databases, an open-source tool that connects large language models to everyday data systems. Developers can now build AI assistants that fetch or update data using plain-language prompts. It works with major databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cloud Spanner, and Neo4j. The toolkit also handles authentication, connection pooling, and logging out of the box.

For businesses, this opens the door to smarter internal tools and customer-facing experiences.
