Claude Tools Now Work on Mobile for Paid Users

Claude's mobile apps just got significantly more useful. Anthropic has enabled support for connected tools on both iOS and Android, extending capabilities that were previously desktop-only. Users on paid plans can now interact with custom tools, create new documents, and work on projects from their phones—assuming they’ve already added tools via the Claude.ai directory.

The update isn’t universal. Tool access on mobile is limited to those with remote-managed compute (MCP) servers. That means the average free-tier user is still confined to basic chat and generation. But for power users, especially those integrating Claude into business workflows, this addition shifts the assistant closer to being a truly mobile AI workspace.

This move strengthens Claude’s position in the enterprise productivity space, placing it alongside offerings like Microsoft’s Copilot and Google Workspace AI. While the setup requires a bit of back-end configuration, it’s a clear signal that Anthropic is prioritizing tool portability. For on-the-go professionals who rely on AI in daily tasks, the mobile upgrade adds real flexibility.
